no integrity

please don't complain to your ROM or device maintainer about Play Integrity

Imagine Google locking down non-RKP attestation on their own servers, and you pinging your ROM maintainer at 3 AM asking them to fix Google's hardware cryptography... 🤦‍♂️

🔒 Play Integrity Verdict (non-RKP Devices)
PASS MEETS_BASIC_INTEGRITY FAIL MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY FAIL MEETS_STRONG_INTEGRITY

❌ Don't do this

Google changed server-side checks for non-RKP devices. There is literally nothing ROM maintainers can do.

Google killed software fallback. ROM maintainers can't forge Google's hardware cryptography... 🤦‍♂️

Note that harassing the maintainer won't fix Google's attestation servers, and only serves to burn out volunteers who build your ROM for free in their personal spare time.

People who do this generally assume Play Integrity is just a bug in the ROM or that the maintainer forgot to toggle a switch. But Google made server-side changes targeting non-RKP (Remote Key Provisioning) devices. As a result, we all are getting only Basic Integrity until someone figures out a better solution.

The same goes for:

  • "Fix Play Integrity sar"
  • "Google Pay / Wallet not working, update ROM"
  • "Pls fix device_integrity in next update"
  • "@maintainer why did you break integrity??"
  • "Opening GitHub Issue: Play Integrity fails"
  • "Any ETA on the fix???"
  • "Is this ROM dead? Banking apps don't work"
  • etc.

There is literally nothing your ROM maintainer can do! 😫

🔑 What is RKP?

Remote Key Provisioning (RKP) is Google's mechanism where device hardware fetches cryptographic certificates directly from Google servers. If a device isn't using valid RKP, Google refuses to grant Device Integrity.

⏳ What should I do?

Wait patiently, until the community comes up with a solution.
